Roman Reigns Could Return to WWE, But Not for Vengeance From Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman

Roman Reigns’ last WWE appearance came on WWE Monday Night RAW after WrestleMania 41, where he confronted Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins. Heyman had betrayed him the night before to join forces with The Visionary. Before anything could escalate on the flagship show, Bron Breakker blindsided him and took him out.

Since then, Reigns has remained off television, leaving fans to wonder when and how he’ll make his comeback. While many expect him to return and seek payback from Heyman or Rollins for the betrayal at WrestleMania 41, recent speculation from a popular wrestling personality and radio host suggests he’s setting his sights elsewhere.

Sam Roberts Predicts Reigns Will Target John Cena

On a recent episode of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts shared an intriguing prediction about Reigns’ next move. Rather than seeking revenge against Rollins or confronting Heyman for aligning with his rival, Roberts believes Reigns will aim higher, specifically at Cena and the WWE Undisputed Championship.

“I would think that the interest would be that he [Rhodes] helps Roman Reigns win [the title from Cena], and then he has to fight Roman Reigns,” Roberts said. [From 01:12:41 to 01:12:50]

The idea here isn’t about settling old scores; it’s about regaining what Reigns believes is rightfully his. A return to the top of the mountain would not only reestablish his dominance but also shift the spotlight back onto a rivalry that has grown cold since WrestleMania.

Reigns’ Legacy With the Undisputed Championship

Reigns held the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for a staggering 1,316 days, a reign that defined an era. He smashed records, ran through legends, and carried WWE through the pandemic and beyond. That title was more than gold; it was a symbol of his power, his lineage, and his control over the WWE landscape.

Losing it at WrestleMania 40 to Rhodes in the main event was a seismic shift. If Roberts’ prediction is right, Reigns won’t just be returning for revenge; he’ll be returning for his legacy.

Cena, now a 17-time world champion, shocked the wrestling world when he captured the WWE Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania 41. His return to the top has added fuel to the fire and stirred up speculation about who will challenge him next.

While names like Rhodes, Gunther, and Rollins have all been floated, Reigns might be the biggest box office match WWE could deliver. If Reigns does go after Cena, it won’t be about hatred or betrayal; it’ll be about dominance, legacy, and proving that the island of relevancy still belongs to The Tribal Chief.
